Female Rappers come and go. As a matter of fact, you don't often hear or read about female artists that have strong neighborhood and underground hype. Well that has all changed with Atlanta's own Mac Bre-Z. This 19 year-old female hood spitter has managed to garner the interest of influential folks in the "A", such as Block of Block E-N-T and Hot 107.9's "ET" of the "Durty Boyz".
The name? There are two sources of Mac Bre-Z's name. M-A-C means "making all the cash" and Brez means "Cool as an a/c". "Bre-Z was also the line name given to her by her Zi Delta Phi teacher. The second source was when she was a member of the step team at Redan High School. The step team, SMG, all had names beginning with "Mac".
It appears her ride to grind has been fairly smooth. She has been rapping in talent shows and around studios since an early age. In fact, she was signed to a management deal with Hitt Afta Hitt Entertainment, after being heard in an Atlanta High School talent show. Soon after, "Dee" of Dee Money Records heard her in the studio and signed her -- making her the First Lady of the same label that is home to Fabo, Shawty Lo, and D4L.
Mac Bre-Z's current claim to fame is her hot feature on Gucci Mane's hit single, "Go Head". She has also worked with Lil' Scrappy, Maceo and D4L, in addition to being featured on a hot single by "ET" aka "Sandman".
This "Grady baby" is known for her exciting and energetic performances. She gives minute-to-minute excitement, even on records never heard. In a nutshell, her stage show is her personality and her mentality. She has experience beyond her years, after already being in and out of a record contract. So for now Atlanta's music industry has a new "batter up"...Dee Money's Mac Bre-Z.
